Rachel Shines is a 15-year-old National Honor Roll student, Level 10 gymnast and the 2021 Level 8 Florida and S.E. Region (8) USA Gymnastics All-Around Champion.
Rachel and the La Fleurs Level 10 gymnastics team are preparing for the 2023 season. The first meet, scheduled for December 16-18, 2022, will be held in the Bahamas at the Atlantic Crown Gymnastics Invitational.
Despite injuries and only competing two events much of last season, Rachel Shines ranked tied for #26th in the USA Gymnastics on bars with a 9.575.
With her sights on college (UF Gators, UCLA, Oklahoma U.) and possible 2028 Olympic dreams, Rachel will spend the pre-season focused on several goals:
- Six days a week of rigorous gymnastics training for five hours per day
- Learning a Jaeger release on uneven bars
- Adding a double-back to her floor exercise routine
- Adding a full-twist to her Yurshenko vault
- Adding a full-twist to her double-back bars dismount
- Having fun and hanging out with friends at beach and online

Rachel Shines (AKA “Lil’ $waggy“) is a 13-year-old National Honor Roll student and a Level 8, 2021 Florida and S.E. Region (8) USA Gymnastics All-Around Champion.
Rachel and the La Fleurs Level 10 gymnastics team just started training for the 2023 season. The first meet scheduled for December 2023 will be held in the Bahamas.
Already three team members are in the Top 100 rankings.

In a remarkable comeback, Rachel Shines, came from the bottom of the field to take State.
